For the past three years, Ms. Beegle's  reading classes have learned about raising chicks.  After the lesson, students helped take care of the chicks - feeding, watering, cleaning the pen, checking for illness.  Last year, one student enjoyed the lesson so much that he and his dad built their own chicken coop so he could 'adopt' a few of our class chicks.  Yesterday, he had the joy of gathering his first egg!
