The Eastern Students on The Ohio State University Student Leadership Research Collaborative Team traveled to Cleveland on Monday to continue working on their Youth Participatory Action Research Project (YPAR).
The year two students worked with The Ohio School Board Association on statewide absenteeism and analyzed their data for the survey they created. They will be continuing to work through this statewide issue with other Ohio high schools and eventually present to the Ohio Statehouse with their recommendations. They are independent, hardworking, and fearless.
The year one students continued to work through their project, learning about how to craft a strong hook to grab their audience attention in their end-of-year presentation. They finally worked together to come up with their action recommendations for their issue and I can’t wait until they can share their ideas.

Our kids are strong leaders, and they are becoming more equipped everyday! I enjoy every time I get to work with this group. Seeing their growth and development with their voice and leadership qualities is incredibly rewarding.
