The 6th Grade class successfully completed the D.A.R.E Program making this Eastern's  6th year of D.A.R.E. Graduates. This program has been invaluable in teaching students safe decision making techniques when facing difficult choices in life. The program covers ways to resist using drugs, alcohol and tobacco as well as strategies for dealing with bullying and creating a help network to call on in times of need. These students can use the strategies they learn in every facet of their lives.

Thank you to all staff and community that make this a success. We commemorate the completion of the course with a big cookout for the students. Shout out to Loyalty is Forever, Sheriff Scott Fitch, and Prosecutor James Stanley for donating the food and drinks for the cookout.

Also a big thank you to Mrs. Houck for allowing me to take time from her classes every year to teach this program. She has been a crucial help every year and always stepped up to help when needed. Enjoy your retirement Mrs. Houck!
