Newsletter from Eastern K-6
August, 2025
Greetings Eastern Elementary & Middle School Families,
I am excited to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year! Hopefully, the summer has provided you with many memorable opportunities to spend time with family and friends. I am honored and privileged to serve as the principal of such as an exemplary and student-centered learning community at EES. As we prepare to embark on this school year, I am reminded that the beginning of school is truly a special time, and I am eagerly looking forward to partnering with you as we nurture the ongoing development of your child. Our school continues to be a team of exceptionally talented and committed staff that is anchored by supportive parents and community.
I would like to introduce some new faculty changes in the building. Hayden Plummer will be joining us as the fifth and sixth grade social studies teacher. Kristy Clark and Haley Perkins will join us in providing reading intervention support to our students this year. Additionally, Sara Will is moving into a district counselor position, and will still be a main point of contact for school counselor needs across all grade levels.
Open House will be 5-7pm on Tuesday, August 19th, with the first day of school starting Thursday, August 21st. The K-6 New Student Orientation will be at 6pm during Open House in the K-6 Gym. K-6 class lists will be posted in the front lobby during this time.
Please help with morning drop off this year by following the following:
· Drop off can begin as early as 7:30 a.m.
· The drop off for K-3 students is at the front doors of the K-6 building. Please make sure to pull all the way up to the yellow sign before dropping off to help with the flow of traffic. I will be outside helping with this each morning. Please continue to move forward if I am waving you forward to help with the flow of traffic.
· Middle School students 4th-6th grade will drop off around back of the building near at the middle school doors.
· PreSchool will drop off at the first set of doors before the main entrance. PreSchool’s first day of school is September 2nd.
Lastly, I want to thank all the parents, families, and our building partners. I couldn’t be more thankful to be serving the best students and families in Meigs County. I cannot tell you how excited I am to begin this school year at Eastern Elementary. I know this will be a great year to take PRIDE in our Eagles!
Sincerely,
Dr. Tara Bell
