Meigs County Chamber / University of Rio Grande Scholarship Application
Each year the Meigs County Chamber of Commerce and the University of Rio Grande / Rio Grande Community College generously supports our community by awarding one local student a scholarship.
This year, the University of Rio Grande has contributed a One-Year Room & Board Scholarship valued at $10,000. The Chamber is honored to offer this opportunity to a deserving student from Meigs County.
Eligibility Requirements Applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria:
• Be a graduate of a Meigs County high school
• Currently reside in Meigs County
Application Requirements
In addition to completing the scholarship application, applicants must submit:
• A copy of their high school or college transcript
• One letter of recommendation
• A list of extracurricular activities (clubs, sports, student government, etc.)
• A 500 to 1,000-word essay responding to the following question: “What role do you believe young people play in strengthening their local community? Describe how you have contributed and how you plan to stay involved in the future”
