On April 1, students participated in a virtual field trip to Washington, D.C., where a representative from the Smithsonian Institution shared the significance of the Cherry Blossom Festival and its connection to Japanese culture.
Following the virtual experience, students visited Ohio University, where they walked among the cherry blossom trees, sat beneath the blossoms, and composed haikus inspired by their surroundings. They then concluded the day with a tour of the Kennedy Art Museum.
By exploring these important community landmarks, students gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of art, culture, and the beauty of the world around them.
