road house

First-grade students from Mrs. Blackwood’s, Mrs. Hill’s, and Miss Spaun’s classes recently enjoyed an educational field trip to Texas Roadhouse—an experience that helped them begin to Find Their E through hands-on learning and real-world connections.

During their visit, students toured the kitchen and learned how meals are prepared, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at restaurant operations. They also explored how the restaurant’s famous rolls are made, working hands-on with dough and cookie cutters. A wildlife scavenger hunt throughout the restaurant added another layer of fun and engagement.

Students had the opportunity to learn a traditional Texas Roadhouse line dance and participate in a photo session with Andy Armadillo, making for a memorable and exciting experience.

In addition to the learning activities, students practiced restaurant etiquette and table manners while enjoying lunch together—building skills that support success both in and out of the classroom.

Experiences like this help our students begin to see how classroom learning connects to the real world, supporting Eastern’s mission to help every student Find Their E—whether Enrolled, Enlisted, or Employed.

A special thank you goes to the Eastern Elementary PTO for generously funding this experience, and to the Texas Roadhouse staff for creating such a fun, welcoming, and educational opportunity for our students and staff.
