Eastern High School Staff

It is a great day to be an Eagle! We are proud to announce that beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, Eastern High School will launch two new College Credit Plus (CCP) associate degree pathways through a partnership with Washington State College of Ohio. Through these pathways, students will have the opportunity to earn an Associate Degree in Science or Liberal Arts while simultaneously working toward their high school diploma.

This achievement places Eastern High School in a unique position as the only school in Meigs County, and one of only a handful of high schools in southeastern Ohio, to offer students a direct pathway to earning an associate degree before graduation.

For our students and families, the impact is significant. Through our robust College Credit Plus program, students can earn substantial college credit at no cost while remaining on the Eastern High School campus. Even more importantly, many of these credits can transfer seamlessly to colleges and universities across Ohio through the Ohio Transfer 36 (OT36) system, potentially saving families thousands of dollars and allowing students to begin their college careers with a meaningful head start.

While we are excited about the opportunities these pathways will create for our students, we are equally proud of the dedication and hard work that made them possible. This accomplishment is the result of years of commitment, sacrifice, and professional growth by our faculty. To qualify to teach college-level coursework, many of our teachers pursued master's-level graduate hours in their content areas, often taking classes during summers, evenings, and weekends while continuing to serve our students every day in the classroom. Their willingness to invest in themselves reflects their unwavering commitment to providing the very best educational opportunities for our students.

At Eastern High School, we are embracing a simple but powerful goal: to ensure every graduate leaves our school enrolled, enlisted, or employed. These new associate degree pathways represent another important step toward fulfilling that mission.

The benefits for our students are substantial. Whether they aspire to careers in healthcare, engineering, education, business, or countless other fields, they will now have the opportunity to graduate from high school with a credential that can accelerate both their academic and professional journeys.
At a time when college affordability and workforce readiness are increasingly important, we believe this initiative demonstrates that educational innovation is not limited by geography or school size. Instead, it is driven by dedicated educators who are willing to go above and beyond for their students.

These associate degree pathways represent more than a new academic offering. They represent a vision for the future of Eastern High School, a future in which our students graduate better prepared, more competitive, and more confident as they pursue their goals. They are the direct result of educators who recognized an opportunity, accepted the challenge, and worked tirelessly to create possibilities that did not previously exist for our students. We are celebrating our educators that have made this possible as much as we are celebrating this opportunity they have created for our students.

For our families and community, the message is clear: Eastern High School is not simply preparing students for the next step. We are helping them take several steps ahead.

GO EAGLES!
