Basketball and Cheer Senior Night 21-22

Below are the seniors, and Their plans after graduation.

Abby Bauerbach has cheered for four years and lettered for two years.

Abby says: I would first off like to thank God for giving me the ability to cheer. I also would like to thank my parents and grandparents for coming to most of my games. These last four years flew by fast. Thank you all for the memories.

After high school, Abby plans to go into the medical field where I hope to focus on nursing.

Arielle Beeler. She has been a cheerleader for four years and lettered two years. 

Arielle says: I would like to thank my mom and granny for always being my biggest cheerleaders and for always coming to all my games. I would also like to thank my sister for going home to get my skirt when I forgot it. I would also like to thank the other cheerleaders for making me laugh and for telling me all the Eastern Tea. 

Arielle plans to attend Marshall University to major in sonography.

Bryce Newland. Bryce has played basketball for four years and lettered for two years. 

Bryce says: I would like to thank my Mom, Dad, sister Brielle, brother Blake, Carrissa, Grandma Cindy, & Paps for always coming to my games and supporting me. Thanks to all my teammates for making it fun! A shout out to Isaiah and Ethan, my senior brothers, for being one of three seniors to make it all the way through! A special thanks to Coach Kight for sticking with us and believing in us! As a great player once said, “Defense wins games, Offense wins championships”. 

Bryce plans to attend OU for Sports Management



Isaiah Reed. Isaiah has played basketball for four years and lettered for two years. 

Isaiah says: I would like to thank Coach Kight for believing in me for the past 4 years. I would also like to thank all of my teammates for giving me a great senior season. Especially Bryce and Ethan for sticking around with me for 4 years. My mom and girlfriend Emma for being my 2 biggest fans. As a great basketball player once said, defensive wins games and offensive wins championships.

Isaiah plans to attend Ohio University and major in business management.

Marie Schuler. Marie has cheered for four years and lettered every year. 

 

Marie says: First off, I would like to thank my Coaches for always pushing me to do my best.  I will forever cherish long practices, all the random goofy talks, and most of all the memories that I've got to make with my girls throughout cheer. Thank you to the cheer girls that have made me cry, laugh, and smile all at the same time.  Thank you to Jen and Josh for always being the person I can turn to when life hits the hardest. Thank you to my boyfriend for not only being my boyfriend but also for being my therapist, friend, and cheerleader all in one. Lastly, thank you to Van, my best friend, for always being there to make my life a little crazier. Even though some days aren't so great between us, I still love you more than anything and am so grateful for our crazy friendship! 

 

Marie plans to finish college where I will further my education in Ultrasound technology.

Ethan Short. Ethan has played basketball for four years and lettered one year. 

Ethan says:     First off I would like to thank all my teammates and coaches I have had over the past 4 years especially my fellow seniors. The past two years have not gone our way win-wise but we have had a good time as a team. As a great basketball player once said , defense wins games and offense wins championships

 Ethan plans to attend Wheeling University to pursue a career in physical therapy and further his golf career. 

Makayla Smith. Makayla has been a cheerleader for four years and lettered for two years. 

Makayla says: I am involved in Eastern Eagles Cheer, Eastern Eagles Archery, Meigs UNICEF Club, and Rough Riders 4-H Club. I would like to thank my mom, Carrie, for all that she has done from getting me to practices to providing me with love and support.  I would like to thank my Meigs teacher Mr. Bissell for believing in me and never giving up on me even though I tend to make him mad. I would like to thank Jennifer for being a great coach. I would like to thank Melissa for being a great coach and amazing friend. I would like to  thank my dad for being my role model in life and my best friend. I would like to thank my Mamaw for being my main supporter in my life and always being there for me. Lastly, I would like to thank myself for pushing myself to be who I am and to work hard. It was a pleasure to cheer with my team and I sure will miss them all. 

Makayla is attending Universal Technical Institute to further her career as an Automotive Technician.

Savannah Stover. Savannah has been a cheerleader for four years and lettered two years. 

Savannah says: To begin, I would like to thank my mom and dad for everything they’ve done for me. And my sister for being my #1 fan, I love having not only a sister, but a life-long best friend. To all the freshmen cheerleaders, I wish you the best of luck in your upcoming years, you have made this year one to remember. Jennifer, thank you for being so dedicated to us girls and treating us like your own. And lastly Marie for being my laughter and joy every day. No one makes me laugh the way you do. 

Savannah’s future plans include attending Ohio University and earning a degree in biology, then attending veterinary school.
