Eastern Local School District

Outstanding Eastern 6th grade language arts teacher Dezere Martin, pictured with  Dean Sara Helfrich, the Patton College of Education, Ohio University on her left, and on her right Eastern Superintendent Nick Dettwiller and, Senator Jay Hottinger, Ohio Senate District 31.  We are proud to have one of our excellent teachers recognized by the Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools.  This incredible organization works hard to advocate for the students in our region.   Dezere  along with being an outstanding teacher is our district Crisis Prevention and Intervention trainer, responsive classroom trained, ALICE and trauma response trained, a member of the district and building leadership teams , and a member of the Signs of Suicide prevention team.  Dezere talked about how lucky she feels to work with such great teachers at Eastern and how much she has learned from her colleagues.  We are proud of her hard work and accomplishments.
