2022 National School Bus Safety Week: October 17-21, 2022, and the theme is "1 Bus + 1 Driver = a BIG Impact on Education" Yellow flashing lights indicate the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. Motorists should slow down and prepare to stop their vehicles. Red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate the bus has stopped and children are getting on or off. Motorists must stop their cars and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving before they can start driving again.

National School Bus Safety Week is October 17th through October 21st! Please remember to be on the look out for the Big Yellow Bus each and every day. Eastern Local Schools wants to remind you that our Drivers and Administrative Staff strive each and every day to keep our students safe on the bus and on campus!

Just a reminder that there is a 2 hour early dismissal tomorrow Friday 10/14/22. Elementary pickup will begin at 12:20. For students riding the bus, please make sure there is someone at their drop-off location 2 hrs early. Thank you

Hello Everyone, Here is the practice schedule for Archery. Also the new shooter schedule. NEW SHOOTER will start 24th Oct. and go to 4th Nov. all new kids will need to come! Monday 6pm to 7:30pm, Wednesday 6pm to 7:30pm, Friday 6pm to 7:30pm All Archery Practice Schedule will start 7th Nov. Practice Schedule Elementary (4th and 5th grade) Monday and Thursday 5:30pm to 7pm Middle (6th to 8th grade) Tuesday and Wednesday 6pm to 7:30pm High (9th to 12th grade) Monday and Thursday 7:30pm to 8:30pm Open Practice on Friday 6pm to 7:30pm (you will be told by a Coach if you are to come on a Friday!)

Good evening! The high school student council is assisting the BraylynStrong Scholarship Program by selling t-shirts until Monday, October 17th. The program is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from Eastern, Meigs and Southern. Forms went home with students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade today and high school students may order through a student council member or with Mrs. Kristen Dettwiller. Payment is expected with the order. Thank you so much for your support! 

Division 4 Volleyball Tournament Info: Reedsville Eastern Volleyball will travel to Glenwood High School on Monday, 10/17 for a 6pm tournament game. Tickets for tournaments are purchased online through the OHSAA website and opportunities to do so open within 3-4 business days of the event. Mike Taylor’s bus 21 is running behind 30-40 minutes this morning and Joe Barnhart’s bus 24 is running 5-10 minutes late. Sorry for the inconvenience, the students riding these busses won’t be counted tardy, and the drivers will get them as quickly and safely as possible.

The Eastern High School Student Council and the American Red Cross will be sponsoring a blood drive on Thursday, September 29th from eight o’clock until one thirty in the high school gymnasium. All donors will receive free ice cream for donating! Again, there will be a blood drive on Thursday, September 29th from eight o’clock until one thirty in the high school gymnasium. There was an issue reported this morning at the high school in which a student may have made a statement saying they were bringing a weapon to school. THERE WAS NO WEAPON! Thankfully, we have students and parents using the See Something, Hear Something and Say Something mentality and reported what they heard to the administrators. The administrator’s and our SRO spoke to students and investigated the situation and talked to parents, and the situation was resolved quickly. Please help us by continuing to encourage your children to listen carefully and speak up when and if they hear something and report it to the administration. Thank you

Just a reminder Archery sign-up are Thursday 15th September at 7pm in the Archery building. Please bring your sign-up paper filled out. One for each child. Also Archery dues are due at that time of $35 each child. There is no seating in the building. Your welcome to bring a chair. See everyone Thursday!

Please know that you can place orders online or print your order form. There is also a limited time offer to earn free stuff with the order of a class ring.
