Next weeks varsity baseball and softball games at Southern are moved due to the county wide academic banquet. Softball will play @ Southern on Friday 5/2. Baseball will play @ Southern on Tuesday 5/13.

Senior Spotlight Brayden Haught is a senior on the Track & Field team. He has been running for 4 years and has earned 4 varsity letters. He is also a member of the cross country team in the fall, indoor track in the winter, student council, and the Ohio state student leadership team. Brayden says his greatest memory is qualifying for districts his freshman year.

JV Baseball walks it off tonight in the bottom of the 7th to win 6-5 over Gallia. Go Eagles!

This is a reminder that testing will resume tomorrow, April 24th. Junior High Students will be taking the Math Air Test Tomorrow, and 8th graders will take the Science Test on Friday. Sophomores will take the Biology EOC tomorrow, and American History Friday. The freshmen Algebra I EOC will be Monday, April 28th. Please have devices charged and ready to go! Senior Spotlight Lance Hensler is a senior baseball player. He has been playing baseball for 3 years and has earned 3 varsity letters. He is also a member of the football team in the fall. Lance says his greatest memory is winning the District championship last year.

Prom updates…please listen to this message entirely. Eastern’s Prom is this Saturday at the Rankin Barn on Lovers Lane! The walk-in starts at 7 pm and the dance following from 8-10 pm. All parents and spectators wanting to watch the walk-in MUST BE parked and standing at the barn no later than 6:15pm. If not, you may get caught in the traffic with prom attendees! There will be a parking attendant there showing you where to park and a shuttle service if you need shuttled over to the barn. It is important for everyone to arrive from the Flatwoods side of Lovers Lane to help with the flow of parking. Carpooling to watch the walk-in would definitely be recommended if possible! The walk in will also be live streamed for anyone who can’t make it! This can be found on the Eastern Local School District facebook page! There will be no pictures permitted at the barn BEFORE prom and there is no smoking allowed on the premises. Thank you for your cooperation and we can’t wait for this memorable evening!

Meigs County families, with school-aged children, mark your calendars for this Thursday, April 17th. The monthly, drive through food distribution will take place at the Meigs Local Administrative office building (formerly Salisbury Elem.) at 41765 Pomeroy Pike in Pomeroy. 4:30-6:00PM or until supplies run out.

Prom this year is April 26th at the Rankin Barn on Lovers Lane. Walk through starts at 7 pm and the dance from 8-10 pm. It is very important that all family members wanting to watch the walk through be parked and at the barn no later than 6:30 pm. There will be attendants showing you where to park and shuttles to take you from your parking spot over to the barn. There is also NO SMOKING on the property! Thank you!
