Congratulations to our Lady Eagles Junior High Volleyball Teams! Both the 7th and 8th grade went undefeated all season long and each won the Championship in the annual Junior High Volleyball Tournament. Their hard work and dedication doesn't go unnoticed. Great job, ladies! You should be so proud; We certainly are proud of you. Eagle volleyball has a bright future.

Congratulations to our Football team for winning the TVC Hocking for the first time since 2000 and earning the #1 seed in Region 27. We will host Berne Union in the first week of the playoffs this Friday 10/27. Information on how and where to purchase tickets will be provided shortly.

Eastern Jr./Sr. High School will be sending home Chronically Absent Notices on Monday for parent signature for grades 7 through 12. The Ohio Department of Education identifies students as chronically absent for missing 10% of instruction or more during the school year. Please sign and return these this coming week. The Meigs County Food Distribution will take place from 4:30-6:00 This Thursday Oct. 19 at 41765 Pomeroy Pike Pomeroy, OH. First come, first served until supplies run out. Fresh produce items this month include apples, eggplant, and peppers.

Tomorrow's junior high football game will be 8th grade night. The main gate and tailgate will be open at 5pm. It will also be a pink out for breast cancer awareness. We encourage everyone to come out and support our 8th graders and wear pink.

Eastern Youth Basketball is accepting sign-ups for athletes in grades 4-6(who attend Eastern Local School District). This is not affiliated with the Upward Basketball program but works in conjunction with them to ensure athletes are placed in an environment that allows them to grow, improve, and enjoy their experience the most. Eastern Youth Basketball is NOT affiliated with Eastern Local School District but utilizes their facilities for practices(and greatly appreciates that!). This school year, the Jr./Sr. High School has decided to mail report cards as a pilot activity to support parent communication for students identified as in need of additional support in hopes of increasing parent teacher conference involvement and participation for secondary school students. As always, please reach out with any questions you may have and know that we would love to see a record year for parent teacher interaction. Please feel free to bring your 7-12 student and siblings to parent teacher conferences on the evening of November 2nd. We will also have a parent review setup for individual senior graduation plans we maintain with Sheryl Roush and would love to see every senior parent available that evening. It is our goal to work our way down by grade level throughout the year at each conference we have so all graduation plans can be reviewed by families during conference evenings. The Upward Basketball Program asked us to get the word out to families that Upward Basketball is available for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Wrestling open mats will be changed to Wednesday this week. Starting next week open mats will be Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 2:45-4:00. Any junior high athlete interested in coming must have a signed note from their parent or guardian permitting them to participate.

High School Girls Basketball open gym for today has been cancelled and moved to Thursday at 2:45pm.

Hello archery family! 👋 The end of the fall raffle is approaching fast. We appreciate everyone who has participated! On November 3rd at 6 pm in the archery building, we will have our first parents meeting. As most of you know, we don't have seating for everyone so please bring a chair unless you would like to stand. At that time, we ask that all remaining raffle tickets be turned in. We will need ALL SOLD AND UNSOLD tickets to be returned. Also, ALL MONEY is due with the tickets. We are also aware that some people may have not signed up for this season. You may also know of other parents interested in signing up their kids. This meeting will be our LAST sign-up of the season. The club dues are required at the time of sign-up and are $40 this year. As always parent involvement is super important for club and archer success. So if you are able we would love to have a full house for this parents' meeting. All by-laws, rules, practice times, and available tournament information will be given at this meeting. Parent meetings help ensure that parents and coaches have an open dialog and help everyone stay on the same page. We hope to see everyone there! Have your questions/concerns ready! With parents and coaches on the same page with amazing communication, our Eagles are sure to soar!!! 🦅🎯🏹
