Picture forms for Fall Sports will be given to coaches on Monday, August 1st for all athletes grades 7-12. Coaches will distribute them to all players at that time.

This is a reminder that physical forms and athletic paperwork are due by Monday, August 1st for any student athlete grades 7 through 12 playing a fall sport. Please turn them in to your coach or the high-school and elementary offices. Students cannot participate in any sports activities from that day onward without them.

Its almost that time! Our school family can't wait for our students to be back in the building. The links for each grade levels classroom supplies are posted on the front page of the website. These can also be found on the website under the K-6 School drop down. See everyone soon!

Tomorrow, Thursday, July 21st from 4:30-6:00 the Meigs County Schools Food Pantry will be distributing food at the Meigs Local District offices. The normal food package will be available along with fresh produce, donated from the local farmers market (while supplies last). Anyone from Eastern, Southern, or Meigs Local School Districts are welcome!

There will be a mandatory Fall presentation meeting for all junior high and high school athletes and their parents/guardians on Monday, August 8th at 7:30pm in the high school gym. At least one parent or guardian must attend.

Boys Basketball Open Gym This Week: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 6:00pm-7:30pm in the high school gym. For grades 9-12.

Eastern Local Football and Volleyball Schedules Fall 2022

For high school AND jr high girls playing volleyball, conditioning will begin Monday July 18th, from 5:00-6:30pm in the jr high gym.

This is a message for junior high and high school volleyball players, conditioning will run Monday July 18th through July 22nd from 5:00pm to 6:30pm in the elementary gym. July schedules and athletic paperwork will be available at those times as well.

There will be VOLLEYBALL OPEN GYM this Wednesday 7/6 in the high school gym: *High School (entering 9-12th grade)= 4:30-6:30 *Jr High (entering 7th or 8th grade)= 6:00-8:00 -Please share with those you know that may not see this.

There will be a parent/ student meeting for anyone going into the 7th and 8th grades for football and basketball cheer. The meeting will be held on the bleachers by the weight room on July 8th at 6 pm. 

There will be a parent/cheerleader meeting for any high school student wanting to cheer for the up coming high school football or basketball season on June 30 at 7pm on the football bleachers. 

Meigs County Schools food pantry distribution will be happening Thursday, June 16, 4:30-6:00 at the Meigs Local District offices. All families with students attending Eastern, Southern or Meigs Local Schools are welcome!!

Due to no power at the school from the storm, summer school today Tuesday June 14th will be canceled. Everyone be safe.

Youth Sports Trophies We have lots of old youth sports trophies (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade) dating back as far as 2000. We have loved to share these with everyone; however, it is time for them to find their rightful team owners. If you were a coach or parent of a child who played any of these sports and would like to claim the team trophy as a keepsake, please do so BEFORE June 30. Any of these youth trophies left after June 30th will be discarded. In the future we will welcome the team trophies to be displayed for a short amount of time but will ask the the team coach/manager take them back for safe keeping after a few weeks.

Available Now! 2022-2023 Free and Reduced Meals Application Required paperwork for each household for 2022-2023 school year. The USDA's National School Lunch Program has required Eastern Local to return to pre-pandemic operations for 22-23. In our attempt to secure free lunch for all students, we are requiring a completed free and reduced lunch application from every household. Your diligence in completing this form, could enable us to provide free meals again for all students.
