Good morning this message is from Eastern Local Schools, Eastern Buses will not run State Route 248 from Locust Grove to Number 9 Road. State Route 248 in Longbottom from Sandhill cemetery Road to the state Route 248/124 intersection. State Route 124 in the forked run area. State Route 124 in Longbottom to Dewitt's Run. State Route 124 from Shelly and Sands Corporation To Forked Run. And the Bigley Ridge/Mount Olive area. Thank You. Buses are expected to run all other routes this morning.

As we monitor rising flood levels Eastern Local will start on a 2 hour delay Friday April 5th to give drivers better visibility. Please watch for possible follow up information.

Due to inclement weather, the Eastern Jazz Club Concert this evening at the Court Grill is cancelled. We will put out a rescheduled date as soon as possible.

Tonight's Baseball and Softball games at Wellston have been canceled.

Multiple Eastern student leadership organizations and athletic teams have reached out to say they want offer their help to any businesses or families who are effected by the flooding and could use some help. Some of our teams have already helped out and more offered to get involved. These are great kids who do a lot of great things for our community and just want to help. If anyone is in need of help please reach out to the school and we can link you with one of these groups or teams. Eastern buses will not run the following roads this morning: Keebaugh Follrod , Cherry Ridge, State Route 248 in Longbottom, Bigley Ridge, Dewitt's Run/Smith Ridge, East Shade, Locust Grove, State Route 124 in the Forked Run/Curtis Hollow area. Keep in mind there may be other areas that buses will not be able to get to today..

Eastern Local Schools will be dismissing at 2:00 this afternoon to help avoid students and busses being on the road during the anticipated storms this afternoon. If you have any issues or need assistance with this change please reach out to the office. All after school activities are canceled as well.

All games and practices for today are canceled due to the potential for severe weather.

JV Baseball vs. Athens, Varsity Softball vs. Warren, and Track @ Warren have all been canceled for this evening.

The Eastern High School Student Council and the American Red Cross will be sponsoring a blood drive on Thursday, April 4th from 8:00 to 1:30 in the high school gymnasium. All donors will receive a free t-shirt from the Red Cross and ice cream from the Student Council for donating! Again, there will be a blood drive on Thursday, April 4th from 8:00 until 1:30 in the high school gymnasium. The more donors we have, the more scholarships we can offer to our senior students. Thank you and we hope to see you there!

SCHEDULE CHANGE: Baseball and Softball games tonight will be played at Belpre, not at home.

Senior Cap and Gown Pick Up CHANGE: Josten's will be at Eastern High School tomorrow morning at 7:30-8am for cap and gown pick up for the graduating class. This was originally scheduled for Thursday but has been changed. Thank you,

We would like to wish good luck to our spring sports as their seasons are starting. Softball opens up their season tonight at Meigs. Junior High Track heads to their first meet tonight at Meigs and High School Track will go to Meigs on Tuesday. Varsity Baseball will host Fisher Catholic tonight at 5pm. Congrats to JV and Varsity Baseball for their wins over Alexander in their home opener on Saturday.

Tonight's Varsity Softball scrimmage will now be played at Warren at 5:00pm.

Summer Bus Registration Form is now available on the Eastern Local Website at easternlocal.com . Please complete this form no later than May 1, 2024 if you would like your students to ride the bus to and from Summer School. The form is also available on the Eastern Ap, under Departments/Transportation.
