There will be a parent/ student meeting for anyone going into the 7th and 8th grades for football and basketball cheer. The meeting will be held on the bleachers by the weight room on July 8th at 6 pm.
There will be a parent/cheerleader meeting for any high school student wanting to cheer for the up coming high school football or basketball season on June 30 at 7pm on the football bleachers.
Meigs County Schools food pantry distribution will be happening Thursday, June 16, 4:30-6:00 at the Meigs Local District offices. All families with students attending Eastern, Southern or Meigs Local Schools are welcome!!
Due to no power at the school from the storm, summer school today Tuesday June 14th will be canceled. Everyone be safe.
Youth Sports Trophies
We have lots of old youth sports trophies (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade) dating back as far as 2000. We have loved to share these with everyone; however, it is time for them to find their rightful team owners.
If you were a coach or parent of a child who played any of these sports and would like to claim the team trophy as a keepsake, please do so BEFORE June 30. Any of these youth trophies left after June 30th will be discarded.
In the future we will welcome the team trophies to be displayed for a short amount of time but will ask the the team coach/manager take them back for safe keeping after a few weeks.

The USDA's National School Lunch Program has required Eastern Local to return to pre-pandemic operations for 22-23. In our attempt to secure free lunch for all students, we are requiring a completed free and reduced lunch application from every household. Your diligence in completing this form, could enable us to provide free meals again for all students. Eastern to host youth camps this summer
Due to the impending forcast, we are officially moving this Sunday's 2022 Eastern High School Graduation location to the high school gymnasium. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Seniors should arrive and meet in the cafeteria at 5:00 p.m.
The 7th and 8th grade students will have their awards assembly on Tuesday, May 24,2022. Those students who were able to maintain their Honor Roll status throughout the year will receive recognition for their accomplishments. Seventh grade awards will begin at 10:00 AM and the eighth grade awards will be immediately afterwards. Parents are welcome to attend the assembly and are welcome to join their 8th grader for refreshments after the ceremony to commemorate the completion of their time at Eastern Middle School.
Summer School Bus Registration form is open until May 24th. Be sure to register via the Eastern Local Website if your student requires transportation.
The Eastern Youth K-6 football teams will have signups this Saturday the 21st from 1:00 to 2:00 in front of Elementary School for flag and tackle football.
Due to some unforeseen circumstances the bluegrass fundraiser concert we had planned for this Friday evening will be cancelled. We are working with the student's to find a time to hopefully reschedule this event in the fall.
Summer School Transportation Request Form is now available on the Eastern Website. Please complete if you would like your students to ride the bus for Summer Session 2022.
The Eastern Local Music Department will be putting on their end of the year, spring concert this Thursday at 7:00pm in the Elementary Gym. Due to Maintence in the high school gym, we will be performing in the Elementary School gym. Please come out to support your Eagles music program!

This message is for all 8th graders going on the Williamsburg trip . Reminder that tomorrow, April 27th is our trip to Williamsburg. Students should arrive at the school no later than 4:30 am. The bus will leave at 5:00 am sharp. When you arrive you should place all luggage on the sidewalk in front of the main entrance to the middle school. Thank you and have a good evening.
