Eastern students learned about leadership, advocacy, and research in their first session at The Ohio State University Student Leadership Research Collaborative. This year our year two students will be working with the Ohio School Boards Association while our year one students work to tackle another problem-solution complex to better our school and community. Our kids are really working to take ownership of their school by developing a strong leadership voice. Today they learned six things about leadership: Leadership is imagination You must be authentic Strength is key Learn to teach Value the people you're around Leadership is appreciation Our year two students met Dr. Kathy McFarland, the CEO and executive director of the Ohio School Board Association while our year two students learned about the YPAR process and problem solving. It's a great day to be an Eagle.

This school year, the Jr./Sr. High School has decided to mail report cards as a pilot activity to support parent communication for students identified as in need of additional support in hopes of increasing parent teacher conference involvement and participation for secondary school students. As always, please reach out with any questions you may have and know that we would love to see a record year for parent teacher interaction. Please feel free to bring your 7-12 student and siblings to parent teacher conferences on the evening of November 2nd. We will also have a parent review setup for individual senior graduation plans we maintain with Sheryl Roush and would love to see every senior parent available that evening. It is our goal to work our way down by grade level throughout the year at each conference we have so all graduation plans can be reviewed by families during conference evenings. Thank you, Garret Hall Principal, Eastern Jr./Sr. High School 740-985-3329 gahall@easternlocal.net Excellence, Pride, Tradition, Scholarship.
