This year Eastern is hosting its annual Family Engagement night at the same time as the Healthy Meals for Healthy Minds food giveaway. Please join us at Eastern Elementary on Tuesday, May 13th from 4:30 to 7:00. We will have superhero themed literacy activities, photo opportunities, bouncy houses, hot dogs, food baskets, local mental health agency information, and more! The Art Show will continue to display curated works from grade K-6 in the lobby and out front of the elementary school. Events will be held in the playground area or in the elementary gym if it rains. We hope to see you there!

The Eastern Relay for Life is next week! We are so thankful to bring awareness and provide support to the American Cancer Society. All money donated this week will go directly to the ACS. The event will be held Tuesday (5/13) and to add some fun, the dress up days are as follows: Monday (Fav. Team/Hat Day) Tuesday (Super Hero/Minion Day) Wednesday (Wacky Day) Thursday (Beach Day) Friday (USA Day) If you are able, please donate 25 cents for each dress up day and 50 cents to participate in the Relay. Kona Ice will be available for purchase ($3-$6) on Tuesday with a portion donated to the ACS. Please send Kona money separately from other donations. Glitter tattoos will be provided on Wednesday for $1 donation. You may also donate any amount to honor or memorialize someone affected by cancer. Please have all donations to your child's teacher by Friday. Thank you all for your support!


Senior Spotlight
Tyler Hill is a member of the Track & Field team. Tyler has been running track for 4 years and has earned 4 varsity letters. He is also a member of the football team in the fall and indoor track team in the winter. He has earned All TVC, District Runner Up, Regional Qualifier, and State Qualifier. Tyler says his greatest memory is beating Blake Guffey in the 200m his freshman year and carpooling to indoor meets with Connor and Cooper.


Eastern Care Clinic offers free sports physicals on campus. All 7th through 12th grade athletes are required to have a physical every year prior to starting practice. Reach out to the Clinic to set up an appointment.

For those who haven't heard, our lead cook, Diane Buckley, will be retiring from the District at the end of the School Year this month. If you have a chance, please stop by and wish her well. She will be finishing up a career inside the Eastern District that has lasted.30 years! Diane is a very special soul with a heart of gold.

Senior Awards Day is Thursday, May 15th at 9:00 AM in the high school gym. All parents, guardians, grandparents, and family members are encouraged and welcome to attend. We are so excited to celebrate our seniors and all of their hard work!
Cupcakes and punch will be available after the ceremony for graduates and attending family members. We hope to see you and your family there!


Helmet fitting day for football players next year is on May 15. High School Baseball and Track student athletes playing football will be fitted in the archery building at 1:45pm. All other football players entering grades 9-12 will report after school is out. Students wishing to play junior high football entering grades 7 and 8 will report to the archery building at 3pm for fitting.

Senior Spotlight
Kayla Sellers is a senior on the Track & Field team. She has been running track for 4 years and has earned 4 varsity letters. She is also a member of National Honors Society, the student leadership team, student council, and the Meigs county chamber of commerce. She has earned All Academic TVC and won TVC in the 4x400m her freshman and sophomore year. Kayle says her greatest memory is running the 4x4 and getting to compete in Regionals her sophomore year.


Varsity Softball beat River Valley tonight 6-3. Senior Emma Putman broke the school record for home runs in a single season with her 12th homerun this year!
