Read-A-Thon Dress Up Week is February 24-28 in preparation of the Read-A-Thon beginning March 1st. PreK-6th grade students brought home Read-A-Thon packets with a reading log and prizes that can be earned. Students get ready and start reading!!!

The Meigs County Food Pantry will proceed as scheduled at 4:30 today.
Parent-teacher conferences will be rescheduled for Thursday, March 6th, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. To schedule a conference, reach out to your student’s school office. The 5th and 6th grade math fair will also be rescheduled for March 6th in the Elementary gym. That evening, there will be a Senior student and parent class meeting that will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the High School cafeteria, and there is a choir and band concert in the High School gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. We hope you will join us to celebrate our students and meet with our staff.
The Eastern Local Board of Education meeting this evening will proceed as scheduled.

Meigs County Schools Food Pantry
Meigs County families, with school-aged children, mark your calendars for this Thursday, February 20th. The monthly, drive through food distribution will take place at the Meigs Local Administrative office building (formerly Salisbury Elem.) at 41765 Pomeroy Pike in Pomeroy.
First come, first served from 4:30-6:00PM or until supplies run out.
This is a reminder that on Thursday this week all Juniors and Seniors will attend the Rio Grande career fair. Any senior who has already found their "E" and can show that they have a career plan ready after graduation can be excused from this trip. Any senior who has already found their "E" must contact Mr. Stewart to be excused. Lunch will not be provided so student should bring money to eat on the way home.
Varsity Boys Basketball beat Belpre 82-74 on senior night. The Eagles finished the regular season 14-8(8-2 TVC).

It’s senior night at the Nest tonight where our High School Boy’s basketball team takes on the Belpre Eagles. Come out and support our seniors and help light up the gym! Glow sticks will be sponsored tonight by Holzer Health Systems.

Boys Basketball will host Waterford in a District Quarterfinal game on Friday 2/21 at 7:00pm. Doors will open at 6:00pm. All in attendance must have a ticket. No TVC or Eastern passes will be accepted.

Yesterday and today all sophomores had the opportunity to video chat with career coaches from Future Plans GRIT to discuss their results from the career exploration exam they took in the fall. Thank you to Future Plans GRIT for helping guide our Eastern students through this process and discuss with them how they can apply their strengths and skills to their career exploration.
Senior Spotlight
Gavan Smith is a senior wrestler. He has been wrestling for 4 years and has earned 4 varsity letters as well as being a Sectional Champion, 2x TVC Champion, 2x District Qualifier, and a State Qualifier. Gavan is also a member of NHS, 4H, and the football team in the fall. Gavan says his greatest memory is going to states last year.
